Glass



For this category, the artworks are created with stained glass. This is glass colored by mixing pigments inherently in the glass, by fusing colored metallic oxides onto the glass, or by painting and baking transparent colors on the glass surface. To make a finished piece, the artist typically makes a pattern. Pieces of glass are cut and assembled. The pieces are placed into metal grooves, which are soldered together to hold all the pieces into place.
